Preschool

3 - 5 years old

Habi teaches English from kindergarten onwards through an immersion program based on the British Curriculum, specially designed for young children.

Our teachers use a variety of interactive teaching methods typical of Anglo-Saxon culture to help children assimilate fundamental concepts, such as songs, games, stories, and practical activities.

Children are encouraged to speak and interact in English from the beginning, which helps them develop their confidence and ability to communicate in this language.

Our teachers also use visual and auditory resources such as flashcards and Jolly phonics (phonetic songs) to help children understand key English language concepts.

Children are also exposed to everyday situations in which they must use English, such as when they ask for help or interact with their classmates. This helps them understand how to use the language in real contexts and reinforces their learning by assimilating basic as well as more advanced vocabulary.

Our program is fun, interactive, and challenging, while also providing a solid foundation for academic English learning.

Years old

The program for children aged 3 to 4 years includes:

Circle time: children are encouraged to interact with their teachers and classmates. The objective is to awaken children's curiosity and get them talking.

Jolly Phonics: introduction to the sound of the day. Depending on the level, different phases are addressed. The learning of phonics is reinforced by a short tracing session. Oral and written practice reinforces sound assimilation.

Motor skills development & Maths: children diversify their skills in math and fine motor skills through the English language.

Topic: the theme of the week is introduced through Flashcards. It is based on the historical program taken from the British Curriculum or on the school's calendar of celebrations.

Story time: collective reading greatly stimulates children's interest, develops their imagination, enriches their vocabulary, and involves them through questions.

Art & Craft: related to the topic, creative projects allow children to more concretely visualize the theme of the day, express themselves through an artistic project, share their sensitivity, emotions, and creativity.

Years old

5-year-old children reach Year 1, which is the first year of primary school in England. The program includes:

Circle time: children are invited to share their daily life and introduce an object of their choice within the framework of Show & Tell.

Jolly Phonics: the sound of the week in two letters. Learning phonics is reinforced by a more complex Tracing Words session that prepares for writing.

Shapes & Maths: children explore the Year 1 mathematics program.

Topic: each week a topic is introduced by Flashcards and panoramic descriptions. The same theme is introduced to all preschoolers, and older children are able to understand the issues, talk about them more easily, and learn standardized vocabulary.

Spelling words & Sight words: vocabulary of the week to assimilate. They allow children to enrich their vocabulary and construct sentences.

Story time: it develops growing imagination. Older children are usually able to decode hidden messages, imagine the continuation, and debate.

Art&Craft: usually related to the Topic, it allows children to move away from the abstract, in a common or individual project. They share their point of view on the theme addressed, express their creativity, as well as their skills in artistic and/or technical motor skills.

Every week, the children are given homework or activities assigned according to their level, as well as a book to read every day for 5 to 10 minutes. Their teaching is academic but also very playful.

The Preschoolers are immersed in the Anglo-Saxon world of early childhood. They are surrounded by English melodies and nursery rhymes. Dances, songs, and role-playing games allow them to immerse themselves in this culture, enrich their universe, and develop their personality freely.

They also actively participate in tidying up the classroom, which makes them more autonomous, and take care of their Mascot, which makes them more responsible and helps them become aware of the existence of others and the need to preserve their environment.
